Roy was a run of the mill type of guy: sandy blonde hair, blue eyes and a 5 o’clock shadow on his chin that never left. Roy owned a hardware store. It had been in the family since his great grandpa sailed to America and started to put roots down.

The people in town liked Roy. He was honest, always nice and had good prices. He did well to keep the family business up to par while creating himself a nice little bit of profit which he could support himself on.

Everyone who worked for Roy liked him, because he respected them and treated them fairly. He was generous with vacation time and even paid holidays and the workers rewarded him with dedication and hard work. They never gave him any trouble and Roy trusted them. He did his background checks and knew he had nothing to worry about.

According to the background checks, his employees were little angels with snow white records.

Bill was also your typical run of the mill guy: brown hair that neatly parted on the side, blue eyes, and a smile that could light up a room. He owned a hardware store a couple blocks down the road.

Bill’s hardware store had been in his family for ages as well. He was honest and had fair prices as well. Bill was struggling though. Not because of lack of business but because two of his workers had been stealing money from his store right from under his nose. They were taking it right from the register.

For a small business like Bill’s, this had crippling effects. This wasn’t the first time these two employees had done it either. They had been convicted on several random misdemeanors and were convicted of robbery years before. All Bill needed was a background check and he could have avoided this.

It’s very simple. Check the history of people you want to hire before you hire them. It is your right to know the kind of people you are hiring. It only takes a few minutes. Click on the link below and save yourself time, money, and embarrassment.
